Why to frame with metal studs for commercial?
The main reason is that Metal Studs are fireproof, unlike wood. Also, Metal Studs don’t wear and tear over time and humidity or moisture don’t affect them. Another reason is the ease of installation in metal studs as compared to wood studs.
What is a drywall bead?
A Metal Bead used to finish outside and inside corners.
What are the types of drywall corner beads?
There are two types:
- Metal Corner Bead installed with fasteners.
- Paper-Faced Beading which sticks to a wall.
Do you need corner bead for drywall?
On inside corners, there’s no much need but we need it on outside corners.

Yes, Dass Metal loadbearing steel studs are produced from hot dipped galvanized steel with a tensile strength of minimum 33 KSI in .033 and .043 and 50 KSI in .054, .068 and .097

Are metal studs non-combustible?
Yes, Dass Metal Studs are non-combustible and they don’t catch fire like wood studs.
What are the different gauges of Steel Studs?
DASS Steel Studs are available as follows: –
WEB: 1-5/8,2-1/2, 3-5/8, 6, 8, 10 and 12” Widths
FLANGE: 1-1/4, 1-5/8, 2, 2-1/2 and 3” Leg Heights

Yes, that can be done using 2 inches Drywall Screws.
How to cut Steel Studs?
Steel Studs can be cut through tin snips tool.
What is a resilient channel?

Difference between metal studs and wood studs?
Metal Studs are lighter than wood studs
- Steel Studs are non-combustible while wood studs are not.
- Wood studs can bear more weight than metal studs.
- Steel Studs are recyclable but wood studs are not.
- Metal studs don’t get affected by humidity.
Will Steel Studs rust if used in a Basement?
Steel Studs manufactured using Galvanized Steel with a minimum G40 coating have proven successful in commercial, institutional and residential applications.
What should I use to cut steel studs?
Tin snips, hack saw or a band saw.
Are steel studs strong enough to support kitchen cabinets, pictures, plasma/LCD/LED televisions?
Yes, absolutely. However, Metal Blocking or specialty drywall anchors sold at all home improvement retail outlets may be required.
Is steel safe?
